Freeway for Chrome
Freeway privacy policy
What the Freeway browser extension does with data. Short version: it collects nothing about you, and what it stores stays in Chrome on your device.
Who we are. Freeway for Chrome ("the extension") is published by PathCarbon Private Limited, a company registered in India. Contact: support@pathcarbon.com.
What the extension does not do. It does not collect, store or send your personal data, browsing history or page content to PathCarbon or anyone acting for us. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not sell or share data.
What stays on your device. In Chrome's local extension storage, on your computer only: the proxies it tested with their measured response time and speed, the proxy you are connected to, and your settings. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
Network requests it makes. It downloads public proxy lists from api.proxyscrape.com, proxylist.geonode.com and raw.githubusercontent.com (proxifly/free-proxy-list). It sends small test requests through each candidate proxy to connectivitycheck.gstatic.com (Google), cachefly.cachefly.net, proof.ovh.net and ip-api.com, and checks the connection through www.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/trace. These services see the proxy's IP address. ip-api.com is also queried once directly, so it sees your IP address, to confirm that a proxy really hides it. These requests carry no cookies and nothing about you beyond what any web request carries.
When you connect to a proxy. Chrome's web traffic then passes through a third-party proxy server taken from a public list. These servers are run by unknown operators, not by PathCarbon. The operator can see the addresses of the sites you visit and the content of any page that is not encrypted with HTTPS. Pages served over HTTPS stay encrypted between Chrome and the website. Do not use free proxies for banking, payments, work accounts or other sensitive logins.
Children. The extension is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights and changes. Because the extension holds no personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct or erase; uninstalling removes what is on your device. Questions or grievances under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: support@pathcarbon.com. Changes to this policy are published on this page with a new date.
